Raleigh DHO 2000, my new build project, nearly finished....

Just noticed your seat clamp. It should in Black not Silver.

I think it was from JD Comps (Jou Ding Components), but could have been a Kalloy. I cant quite remember.

hi bikemeister2000, thats fantastic, many thanks for that, didnt have a clue about the headset so thanks. now i have more items to add to the wish list!

safe trails

I'm pretty sure I still have a copy of the catalogue I did for that years range somwhere in the back of my filing cabinet. I'll try an look it out and maybe post up some scans from it.

Regards

Good luck with your build.

When these came out I had a hard time deciding between one of these or a Giant ATX 1.

I plumped for the Giant as it was a killer deal but I still have a real soft spot for one of the DHO's.

I rode with Matt Farmer on my own course BITD. I was on the ATX and he was on the DHO. Crawford Carrick Anderson and the Clan team were there as well, all on ATX's. It was some day.

I've just sold a set of original Boxxers with a frame I had. Shame as this frame needs them more.

I've got a Stratos shock that might suit you but it needs serviced and I'm not sure if anyone would service it these days. It would be cheap if you wanted it so including a service it might work out cheaper than a new shock ?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh Those were the days. Sat in the sun with Glen sorting out the bikes.

We took it to another level, when Glen got a hover mower and mowed the grass in our pit zone. We even bought some blow up sofas and an espresso machine.

The best was at Red Bull when we put a huge water tank on the roof, got the gennie going and fitted out a hire van with a washing machine and a tumble dryer.

Happy days. :D

Greatings all!!!

Many thanks for the replys.
bikemeister2000, would I be correct in thinking you had a hand in the dho at raleigh? If so any info, back ground history/storys etc would be great to hear.
As to the project, well since my last post I started to take the frame apart so that I could touch up the paint work were rub had taken hold.
Rocker arms came off with no problems, as did the chainstay main pivots. However the pivot point between chainstay and seatstay has proved a bugger and so I have left them as they are.
Once the frame was in bits the next job was a red and ywllow paint. The red was simpleish (only 1hr 20min in halfords getting a color match and then paint made up) but the yellow is a bugger again. With the yellow being on variuos shades I havent been able to find a 'perfect' match as yet but its close enougth for me to be happy with it. See pics below for the colourt matches.
Anyway after the paintwork had been touched up (the idea of repainting it one plain colour had been mentioned by a friend but he was quickly told to close the door when he left the room!) the rocker arms were the next concern. As with other dho's I have seen the rocker arm had ovalised at the shock mount (maybe a side affect from using light weight alloy?!), however when I originally started this project back last year (I think) I spoke to a Raleigh and with the help of a chap called Johnathon I was able to get the very last pair of rocker arms for the bike along with new bearings and bushings.
So now the bike sits as a frame with a rear shock (fox vanilla rc I think!?) on its way from Scotland. The rear shock is 190 mm eye to eye as trying to get a 195mm was no fun.
The wheels and forks are as yet to be selected but I have had a interesting lead on some near new xtr cranks (in five arm) for her so will just have to wait and see.
Still no joyt on teh "Raleigh" stocker on the downtube, so if any one can help that be great.
Anyway hope you like the pics and such and any advice, help or the likes i'd love to hear from you.

Safe trails and regards

James

and yup, i know the frame isnt meant for a qr rear wheel but i just wanted to put one on so i had a idea what it'll look like
