Carbon Fibre/Aluminium frame bonding

Ok not exactly retro but I am thinking about building my own frame (retro style) from carbon fibre tubing and machined aluminium lugs.
Does anyone have any experiance or knowledge of the glue favoured for bonding the tubes into the lugs?
I have so far located Permabond ET515 which seems suitable, but any other advice would be appreciated.
Cheers, Roy

Hi, Roy,

Columbus recommend Loctite 9461 for their carbon back ends into alu front triangles.

You'll need some sort of insulating -glass fibre-?- layer between bare carbon and alu, or a good varnish layer to avoid galvanic corrosion...and also take account of the very different coefficients of expansion of carbon and alu.

Better try at framebuilders@googlegroups.com...an excellent community of some of the world's best framebuilders.
They might be a bit sniffy about carbon -lots of trad steel guys- but there will be someone there who can help, maybe Landshark or Calfee.

All the best,
