Looking in the future to re build my wheels with modern rim brake rims for longevity of riding.

Currently I have mavic 217 SUP rims which are beginning to stress crack around the eyelets, drive side.

Currently thinking something along the lines of Mavic XM317 or XC717

Would be most interested to hear the thoughts and inputs of others..

I have recently had wheels built on a pair of XM719 rims. Bomb proof as far as I can tell and I am less than graceful on a bike! They are built on ProII EVO hubs with DT butted spokes.

Can fault them so far.

modern rim brake rims + longevity of riding = AlexRims

They're a bit heavy, but most of their rims have plenty of material in the sides, so they'll last quite a long time. Oh, and they're quite strong too.

On the Alexrims site you can also see the sketches with the exact dimensions of the cross-section. Very useful in choosing the right rim.

Does it have to be mavic?
I last got build some DRC MT19.Italian made and they came well recommended.Theyre double eyeleted so its unlikely you ever have the pulling through problem again.
I seem to remember they were about £25 :?
