summer solstice ride cancelled due to wetness

Rain, wetness, drooned rattedness, yup we had all that but who cares, we who showed up had a GREAT days mountainbiking in the fantastic world of Mikee.

Well chuffed :D :D :D :D

Shut it you. :)

I phoned Mike to call off as I couldn't see the Lomonds from where I stay the other side of the loch due to the rain.
It had stopped raining by 12 and it looked like it stayed relatively dry until half 3. Wishing I'd turned up now.

Pics could be problematic. Mikee fished oot his camera to discover it had no charge and ZZ forgot his memory card so a max of 3 photos might appear

it was a good day out , bit wet tho
thanks to velo, tk zz task for turning out ,above and beyond the call of duty

who's doing the writeup ?

Great day out, soaking wet but fun, excellent hospitality from Mikee and his wife.

Absolutely knackered now though and the pain killers are wearing off, might take some more in liquid form :)

Macretro's Herbal Essences 'Rainforest Flowers' Photoshoot earlier today...

mikee's trails still do not cease to amaze, from the tropical overhang pictured above and the short but sweet Falkland foresty bit, complete with blind 90 degree tunnel. After meeting up with TK, we climbed up to the radio mast and did the sweet singletrack back down into Glenrothes - quite a bit different from last year though, very sketchy under tyre but still huge fun. Enjoyed 'hairy fanny' forest (or whatever it was called), superb sloping forest trails, rooty and obviously very slippy in the wet. Wasn't so keen on being slapped in the face by the oak saplings though, nor the head height nettles and the ninja molehills throwing me off, and as usual the urban trails that are actually in Glenrothes were superb.

Weather wise, we were lucky for most of the day, only one real torrential downpour near the end of the ride. After escorting Velo to the road for the train, we were denied at the pub for health and safety reasons (could they smell TKs damp feet?). So back to mikee's to get dry and enjoy some fine fish suppers (much appreciated).

Top day out. Honestly, the variety of trails up there is staggering... Proper steep hilly descents, lovely singletrack and techy woods - Scotland's best kept mountain biking secret, I swear.
