Your right, they do, but its a lot more abrasive than a dish sponge and go from very fine to coarse.

The green grade is the same as you can buy from tescos etc branded as 3M scotchbrite

with 2000 grit things will come up like glass......BUT it must be wet,soak it in a bucket for 10 mins and keep dipping the paper every few strokes,a bit of washing up liquid in the water will help too.

Instead of Nitromors you can use Coustic Soda, it´s a very strong paint remover. Mix it with wallpaper glue, and use it as described with Nitromors.

I just read up on it, and it is not for use on aluminium, but steel is okay.

2000 grit wet and dry (used very wet) as said will give you a great finish for polishing

that and a good right (or left if your that way inclined lol) arm will see you right
