I keep my Mac very clean. But I've noticed that the cookies folder keeps getting the same items??

I empty the cookies nearly every day. And yet some of the very same cookies I've deleted are back. But I only visited that site once. I thought once you deleted them they were gone. I leave some cookies like for the retrobike site. But 90% of the others I delete.
So do cookies reappear? Can cookies be designed to do different things depending on the site?
 
Cookies can be put on your computer by ads as well as websites so you don't necessarily have to visit a site to get them.

They are a per session type of thing so they're renewed every time you visit a site. If you close your browser, delete all your cookies and then re-open the browser the cookies will be replaced as you visit the websites.

This is why I like firefox because you can prevent websites from leaving cookies on your computer. I only allow a handful of sites to leave cookies and I check them every time I finish browsing.
