Tour de France in Gods country for 2014

Erm France?
I wonder if the money raised form this justifies the cost of the bid and hosting? I can't see many tourists coming over for it, maybe a few Brits skivving work. It's outside of London for one, is there anywhere outside of London for foreign tourism? Doesn't all transport from France stop at London.
Wouldn't the money have been better spent on the ToB?
Let Johnny come over here and try to beat us on our own turf.

Born and raised in North Yorkshire but jumped ship 6 years ago, a mile over the border for a bigger house for less money

Also saying it may be coming through Skipton and into the Dales.
Getting a train from France or London to Leeds or even Skipton is easily done
