Peachy, while I applaud the build and attention to detail... is that at GT cable end on the rear brake??!

Oh.... sharp eyes.... it’s like you’re RetroSpuds wing man..
Yes, I swapped out the Campy chrome end for the aluminium GT end as the Campy was just too sloppy in the Kalloy hanger/clamp combo thingy. Also the Olympus levers got the same treatment.

Oh trust me he ain’t nobodies wingman - MTS is the real Slim Shady and ain’t Imitating in fact he leads the field on spotting minuscule missing detail, I’m just the apprentice in that dept

Ok, so while I wait for the rear mech to turn up it’s time I put into practice what I’ve learnt regarding the front mech issues I had on the Campy.
So back on the shelf goes the M900 clamp on front mech and out with my collection of B.B. mounted kit from the odds & sods box.

This frame arrived in my hands sporting a Shimano Altus FD-CT91 from September 1995, weighing in at 244g but this must have been matched with a very small “big ring” as it’s reach/radius from the B.B. is quite small.

The idea was to use a Shimano XTR FD-M960 I had planned for another project, I don’t mind that it’s from November 2004 as this isn’t a Catalogue build & at 142g it’s nice and light, but although it’s taller/larger? It still doesn’t clear the chainset I have... what to do? Well I spied a Shimano Nexave unit with what looked like almost exactly the same style of bracket, just a little taller. Well it fits perfectly and only added 6g....

Job done. 8)

*Clears throat*

Maybe Peachy meant to say "I'm going to eat it".

Implying he's a lotophagi? It would make sense.

Having met you. I would suggest that you could save way more than the gained 6g by a number of other means...............

Perhaps a stern talking to?

A walk around the camp site?

Wholesome flatulence?
