This bike started out as a pink and '90 black fade Rascal with a "TG" serial number. The only reason I bought the frame is b/c it was meant to be a Top Gun.
I sent it to the painters and on it's way back to me.

Here are some pics.

Cool! So this is one of those that were made as Top Gun but had to be renamed into Rascal? Wasn't the Top Gun only delivered until '89ish?

Yes. I guess there was a problem with Paramount and the movie Top Gun. the serial number has "TG" that stands for Top Gun.

It might be a '90. I will contact Martin to see if he can decipher the SN.

He believes it is a '89 or '90.

I should get it back from the painters tomorrow. I have most of the components. It will be XT 730/732 with some other stuff mixed in. I want to ride this, so it won't be a catalog spec. Since it is a repaint, that wouldn't make much sense.

I have said this before, BITD when I purchased a bike, over time I would change out the cranks, stem, brakes, etc. I haven't changed in my old age. However, knowing that the frame and the paint are the real stars, I won't be using any ano.
