Yo Eddy R.I.P. :(

Was going to build this into a SS but found a little problem with the seat tube.

Sounds like par for the course with steel FCs.

Should have a black 1" (I think) FC fork for sale or swap in the near future...

It's got to be worth having that repaired - try Dave Yates or someone like that for a price estimate.

make sure you get a hole drilled in the bottom bracket shell so that water can drain from the seattube; when you get the seattube replaced.

A timely reminder that I keep meaning to get some of that frame saver stuff for my steel roadbikes. My mountain bikes are somewhat over engineered!

That's repairable. Depending how much you are prepared to do. You'll want to get it tigged rather than brazed. Try Kevin Winter he quoted up a seat tube repair for me.

Repairs are brazed because it causes less damage to the existing tubes. TIG welding a new seat tube would mean that the top and down tubes and the stays had been subjected to welding temperatures twice in their lives, which is generally considered once too many. Especially for a lightweight tubeset like a Yo Eddy.
