1985 drop bar Overburys Fell Rider

Here’s an early one, it has lots of ‘patina’ ....

Labelled a Fell Rider, has original Overburys shop decal, with 501 decals too.

Issues: shorn off water bottle bolt, ripped off brake cable guide, some rust, missing paint on forks = full refurb needed. Not too full of remorse as just black paint after all.

Are there any other Fell Riders out there? Love to see a pic if so! Frame is fillet brazed, you can see the brass, if anyone has any knowledge of this sort of micro brazing I’d also be really interested

Pics with bits I’ve been collecting coming up

Re:

Also got an old fisher clamp on bullmoose bar from a fellow retrobiker which might go on. Thinking some kind of two tone paint scheme for the frame, red and white horizontal fade or yellow and blue, thoughts on colour welcome

Strange looking beast... Looks tiny but also looks like it'll fit most folk ...... I like it!, Personally I'd go for a solid colour, would be more period correct and save money for the decals.

Gonna be a hard find that thumbie tho....

Re:

Agreed it’s a strange beastie! It’s a super short top tube as well, almost a sort of BMX or trials geo, hopefully go nicely with the long flat fisher bars though. Solid colour - perhaps, was also thinking metallic light blue with yellow decals.

You also reminded me - need to source new decals

Gil has got them on file. I had him draw some up inc the crest a few years ago
