Hi All

Cartridge bearing axles are a whole new ball-game for me. I recently picked up a v nice mavic wheel with a nice spesh hub. It spun beautifully but the qr just wasn't tightening correctly. I did a bit of research and tapped the axle out of the hub. I now have 1 loose cover, 1 loose bearing and this axle with the other cover and bearing still attached. I think that the qr spindle (threaded one end and not the other) should be loose in the axle, but it's seized. Am I right??? What do I need to do next to get it all running properly?

Thanks in advance for your help...

Don't think the threaded section is separate - the threaded portion simply provides a means to adjust the bearing end load. Is there a small grub-screw on the end cap with the threaded end? I'd get the bearings off, find suitable replacements and rebuild the hub.
