TI Raleigh frame identification.

Hi All

My knowledge of retro road frames is limited at best. Can anyone help with identifying this frame. I can find some that look similar on Google (Team? Team pro?) and someone has suggested it's a GS, but I can't find much relating to a GS frame. The frame number starts WG2, which I have determined means it's an early 1982 frame made in Worksop, but not what model it is.

Any help appreciated.

Also, it's for sale so any offers welcome too :)

It's a Team frame iirc they crop up from time to time. The Team Professional at the time has similar chrome on the drive side but had shot in seat stays and usually 531c, Yours has fluted seat st caps. I always wondered if it was a USA model as I don't recall them here in the UK back in the day.

Here's the Professional

Re:

It's a lovely machine. I wonder if it was the top of the range complete bike with the Record gruppo, rather than a frame somebody built up, but I'm confused by the stays. The professional frameset would have been an SBDU rather than a Worksop I think.

Re:

Thanks all. The fluted stays were confusing me too. However I've found this 1982 catalog scan that shows the Gran Sport (which I now know is what GS stands for) was available in team replica colours. I think this might be my answer.

Re:

So, anyone want a 54cm (21") Gran Sport frame in team replica colours? Haha

Unfortunately there isn't much of the original componentry left. The Campag shifters and front mech are there, and I have the bars and stem, but that's it. The brakes are modern-ish dual pivot Tektro things, and the front one is completely seized.

They’re very nice. Good luck finding the group. X.

And a little small for me. GLWTS
