Raleigh with campag dropouts and forks?

Old School Hero
Hi guys

i acquired this frame and forks last year and whilst it is too small for me it is perfect for my fast growing 10 year old. i want to build this up with him over the coming months but am unsure of a few things.

I'm not sure of the age - the sticker on the downtube says 1970-1971 but i'm not sure it's that old given the condition unless it has been restored previously and resprayed like this.
The badge is the 3 rivet type- when did these get dropped for the glue on version?
there is only 1 serial number that i can find on the bottom bracket - worksop 1979 perhaps?

As you will see from the pics it has campag rear dropouts and front forks. as it is a raleigh will it have raleigh bb threads or italian. how can i work this out/tell?

the rear chain stay has the stop for the derailleur cable on top so how do i get the cable from the bb to the back as it looks as though it needs to come over the top of the BB.
I would also like to add more modern shifters as it's easier for him than downtube so can i get something that clamps on to allow for cable stops in the downtube position? there are no bosses on it.

any help is appreciated to get my 10 year old on his new bike.

thanks Rob (+Josh)

Looks like an early Competition which has been refinished, MrW will be along soon to put me right. :)

You need a bb cable guide clamp, I'll post a pic when the tablet behaves :). The BB is standard uk size so no problems.

The equivalent Carlton I guess would be the Pro Am, which I think also had the teardrop lug cutouts.

Nice :)
