Retro Newbie
Hi guys,

I have been directed here by someone on bike radar. I have inherited my dads old road bike and I love it. it's a Dawes Stratos with a 531 frame. I just wanted to know a little more about the bike age etc. and what are some good modifications to bring it into the 21st century.

sorry for the poor quality pic:

thanks

531 is always an excellent start point. Before you change too much give it a good clean and polish. Then change the cables and brake blocks and oil the parts that require it. You may be surprised!

If you must change stuff, dual pivot brakes will improve stopping and STi will make for easier shifting.
