i saw a picture on here a couple of days ago of a black gt with red decals , it had a stem that looked like the rear of the top tube (sticky out bit with gt stamped on it) are these 1" quill stems ? i can't seem to find the picture again lol .

just bought myself an older gt and i'd like this style of stem if pos..........cheers

They're called Flipflop stems and are only in 11/8 IIRC, drop me a line when you need one, I have one in black

This type?

It's a fixed quill stem with a rounded back edge the same as the top tube.

thats the one...................i spent an hour today trying to find that picture lol .

is the stem 1" or 1 1/8th ?

i've just bought this and i'm looking for some more bit's for it already lol
i'm sure it's a 1 inch steerer......

As far as I know it's 1 1/8th, according to that German web site mentioned in another thread.
