Zolatone Marins Sought

I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled for a possible donor frame from eBay but still plugging here in the hope that someone might want to donate a Zolatone to a very good cause.....big hints  :D

wa' down at my local powder coaters the other day.

he hadn't heard of zolatone 2000 but can replicate, as near as damn it. i'm working on it with him for texture and shade.

In the long-term a possible alternative to cellulose built up methods. and, a less faff way of getting the job done. they take the frame/fork/whatever as it is and, the preparation is all part of the service. if i get a sample frame done at some point i will update this thread with the results.

flouro too. they can do orange, pink, yellow, green, very marin-ish

i posted up a ral code for the earlier marins
but i cant find it at the moment

I've got a 1991 Eldridge frame that we can use for testing Marc?

Oh, and I'm happy to lend it to you drewson if it'll help with the match. Not much of the zolatone on show atm but some more could be uncovered.

super!

if i can get a sample from that frame, we can look at matching it. the flouro pink is easy though

i will see when i can meet you ed for goods transfer. skipton not my 'patch' now but, things can be made to happen..where marins are concerned. 8)

Hamster...thanks for the offer....i'll be returing your PM in a minute.

Just to clarify....the method myself & Marinator were looking to employ involves cutting a section of tubing from a frame so that we can send it to the US for colour/paint matching....hence why damaged frames are preferrable...but as it may be difficult to be so specific with our request it may be better to take a tube from a low end or well used model.

We would send complete frames but this would involve sending a frame for the 1990 model & for the 1991 model, and this may be expensive, especially if we want them back.....hence why it is probably better to source sacrificial frames here. The donor frames would be going to a very good cause which we hope will benefit many on here who are after a respray......HOWEVER.....i'm very interested to see marc two tones results first which would save the need for shipping altogether if the match is very good.....here's hoping Marc....send me a PM if i can help in any way.... :)
