in my defence I'm sure the bolts were about the same torque as factory set. I had to crank on them quite hard (still a std hex key) to get them undone then did them up similarly (but no torque wrench). I checked the un-broken side with feeler gauges and the gap between the faces was similar behind each bolt (but those faces are not exactly machined flat!!).
Really? can that much force be put on those bolts with a 70mm long key before stripping a thread especially compared to the leverage of 80-90Kg bouncing on the end of a stanchion while riding?? Would be interested to know???
Anyway, when I get a minute I will be breaking the crack open to find the oversize grain or bubble....
still looking for a replacement crown..........
