Zero feedback ebay seller - avoid?

I'd like to buy these motorbike goggles but the seller has no feedback despite being a member since July '18 (??)

They retail for £125+ so it's a good saving and might be worth a punt. But will ebay/paypal reimburse me if the seller disappears? (likely, I realize)

Yeah there's loads of those copies about but they really are shite in comparison, no safety certification on the lenses etc. Not something I wanna trust.

I don't mind paying for the real thing and the ebay ones I linked look genuine at least, even if the seller isn't!

I would be careful with eyewear for motorcycles, as an ex road racer, I only bought what I could see and touch, or at least from a reputable source.

For sure.. I was pretty set on the Leon Jeantet/Davida ones because they fit well in an openface helmet and are nicely made (though way over-priced) The ebay ones appear to be the T2 version for glasses users, which I need. No other goggles seem to work well with spec's.

It was a dumb question really, but I'm quite new to ebay and have had good luck so far. If a scam seller just f***s off, how do ebay fund the reimbursement?

Yes, as long as you pay through ebay you will be covered.

The listing looks fine to me, and all ebay users start at 0.

The only thing i personally would be wary of is if they are genuine goggles, i know nothing of them so cant comment on that.

They refund you then chase the seller for their money back, so as above as long as you complete the transaction through ebay you are covered by them.

Ah ok thank's! I suspected as much but wasn't sure if they'd try to get the money from the seller first.
I'll have a punt then, a £50 saving might just pay for my tank powder coating
