Couldn't resist popping in to have a dig through a stac of 45s. Picked up some Ian Dury, Musical Youth - Pass the Dutchie (takes me back that one). Spotted an old Blue Beat record, I know nothing about it but thought 1960s ska, it's got to be good so add It's Burke's Law by Jamaica Greatest to my pile and keep looking. I move on to next load and a bloke starts rifling through the records as well and spots the Blue Beat 45 I've snaffled, asks for a look then starts going on and on about what are the chances of finding one of those in a charity shop and nothing else in there is in the same league...

Given it a wipe over with lighter fluid and had a listen, cracking tune, 50p well spent me thinks.

i move out of crawley, and now you're spending your money on crap, lol

Yes but I can sell it for a lot more than I paid for it and spend it all on bike related crap

No more cycling over to Crawley to collect it to save on the postage fees though. And no more eyeing up a tasty Retrobike being wheeled down Horsham high street then realising "I know that man".

When your local record shop will sells you a promo vinyl of "Get Behind Me Satan" by the White Stripes for £20, when there are only 300 of them and it's never going to get a full vinyl release, ever.

When your new local record shop sells you the new U2 Record Day release for £13 when it's already changing hands for £70 on the bay.

My early MTBing was in no small degree financed by records I´d found for a pittance and sold on at a profit. Think the best one was an early Guns n Roses single I bought for 50p in Woolies in Egham and sold for £30.
