During the last world cup my missus had her car roof jumped on, nearly writing the car off - the supposed motive? - It was a VW, a few german cars were vandalised that night - we never even f*cking played Germany!!!!! My Focus also got a wing mirror kicked off that night as well.

I feel your pain mate! Find the f*ckers and deal out some pain!

I feel your pain in ten years of owning one of the last proper mini coopers built I have had 5 sets of wing mirrors smashed off , front indicator units stolen, countless winged badges nicked , a rear quater light stoved in, aerial snapped, aerial swipped, hole punched under the door lock with a screw driver and the whole side of the car keyed.

I can understand the theiving part although this gets me very cross! its the mindless vandalism that really does my head in :x

Happened twice to us within a month or 2 - £100 excess or £180 fix - result is 2 years later we still have a wing mirror held together with gaffer tape.

When I was young "Having fun" didn't mean putting someone seriously out of pocket.

When I was young "Having fun" didn't mean putting someone seriously out of pocket.

It's how things are - a view of trivialising that which they can't easily sort out or address. At best, lip service, at worst, dismissiveness.

'cos proper policing takes time and effort, and isn't always easily shown in tables and stats.

So much easier to issue fixed penalties and fines, and setup systems that detect things that are easily detected.

I once told a kiddy off for throwing stones are the street lights .... he squared up to me and said "there's more of us than you"

I in a very calm manner suggested I would kick the sh*t out of him first

He backed down ..... the crazy thing was he was only about 13 !

Caught some others once putting a housing for sale board on the top of the car .. They legged it but I caught hold of the one I saw do it and called the police ... they shut him in the car and took the names of the others ... by the end they where all bawling !! so agreed with cops to let them go (would of thought that put the wind up them)

Also chased a group who where ripping branches off small trees ... they ended up trying to hide in entrance of the local pub .. I was bawling them out and the landlord came out to find out what was going on ... he then bawled them out and gave me a free pint

I don't live on a modern housing estate any more thank god !!!
