Can anyone help, trying to refurb yeti pro fro circa 1991 . I have owned from nearly new, having real trouble with paint and headset. I have the original accutrax which I thought were 1 1/8 but they do not fit in the Chris king headset I just bought no refund available. Does anyone no what size headset the pro fro was. Also has anyone ever bought the powder for yeti as can only buy 20 kilos. Seems a bit excessive . any help appreciated really stuck

Yeti

Try the General chat forum, this is the for sale section and post a few pictures. You'll need a Flickr or photobucket account to load up on here. Have you bought an aheadset when you need a threaded? Also Yeti were inch and a quarter?
Welcome to the forum, plenty of Yeti tribesmen on here

Thanks

Don't know how but I had a set of manitou forks on with a 1 1/8 headset bought a Chris king headset threadless , when I dug accutrax out they did not fit in either headset ? And we're threaded , what's baffling me is how my yeti had a 1 1/8 headset ?

If it truly is a Pro FRO, you're frame will have an 1 1/4" (1.25") headtube diameter. They used this setup on virtually every model (Kokopelli, Sherpa, Road project aside) from August 1989 until 1998 or so.

the Pro FRO came around in 1992 when they switched to Tange tubing, moving away from the heavier Patco tubes.

Not sure what I have

Bought bike in about 1992/1993 used could it be just a fro ?
When original it had sideways yeti an on front if that helps.

Thanks mike will try and dig out picture, it has a oval top tube, really struggling with this rebuild, cannot find headset threaded to fit my accutrax , really wanted to get it back to original but proving really hard,

FYI, if your accutrax was "original" then they would be 1 1/4" as well.

Yeti desert turquoise, for restoration purposes, is RAL 5018

I think I have located some powder in a volume less than 10 kilos ral 5018
Was thinking of getting the accutrax the a tax stem and bars white what do you think? Sick of trying to get the yellow for forks also do not want to spend another 80 quid for the sulphur yellow. Been three days now searching for 1 1/4 headset . Really don't know where to look , would have loved to set it up as it was meant to be, the shocks I put on never felt right and was heavy.
