i`m having problems finding wheels for my 2004 yeti dh9 but want matching wheels because i`m fussy like that.. well the front is`nt a problem as its 20mm but the rear is 20mm too i have the reducer that takes it down to 12mm can`t remember if it is 135 or 150mm width axle, also want to fit 6bolt disk, any ideas

Can you not just measure the space between the drop-outs?
I have these wheels for sale if you are interested...maybe the S logo might be a clash.
Front is 20mm bolt....rear is bolt too..can't remember the size but probably 12mm. Rear is 135mm
Will throw in some tyres and tubes FOC for a retrobiker.

measured

i got the frame out earlier and measured it, looks to be 135mm but still unsure as it has a floating disk mount design built with the axle on the inside of the frame and that is about 20mm width on its own, what is a bolt on axle? that is a new 1 to me.. mine is what i would call bolt thru is there any difference? i`m greatful for your reply harry and yes they are a lovely set of wheels reminds me of my old fsr i would send pics over to you so you can see yourself what i`m talking about but this stupid 5 mega pixel camera won`t allow me to send on here as i`m useless with tecnology and don`t know how to re size pics

The early Yeti straight 4/6's used custom Ringle rear hubs,is there a chance the DH9 is the same?

ringle hubs

good question i`m not entirely sure on that, maybe i should check that out.. I have looked at a few things today and from what i see my best option for this is from betd they do the goldtech draco hubs and a 12mm axle adapter to suit the yeti dh9, they come at a price of £136 for rear and £45 front. I have the 12mm axle kit but need the hub so this may just be a case of building sum custom wheels. A little research into what was originally used on these bikes were a 20mm axle and hub which was called razor rock, so i`m told are getting pretty rare now and if it goes wrong you are stuffed! so 12mm it is

I´ve raced with one of those 5 years ago. It originally came with a Peter Hadley rear hub, 12 x 150mm. It was one of the most plush bikes i ever had, not so fast on singletracks or more technical trails, but worked very well on high speed bumps, it was there to forgive and correct every mistake you made. Short jump? Too long with flat landing? No problem, just like sitting on a puff...
