I've wanted a Yeti Arc for about 15+ years after seeing the bike in MBUK and reading about it winning various races / championships. I think it's still one of the best looking hardtails out there today.

Rather than buy an off-the-shelf Arc I want to build one to my spec. I'm not a weight weener otherwise I'd build a bike around a carbon frame. I'm building this bike for me. I want this bike to not only look the nuts but I want it to ride brilliantly as well.

The build doesn't have to be the latest and greatest up to date brand new parts. I'm happy using second hand older parts too.

Ideas welcome.........

Yeti Arc

I fancy some white fox forks on the front and I know Yeti put Thomson parts of their builds. I put a Thomson seat post and stem on my Kona Hei Hei (see link) and they looked the business.

Thomson seatpost and stem purchased.

XTR M970 shifters purchased.

Thomson are bringing out a handlebar now too...I'd put one on!

Has to be a pair of Fox forks, modern Yeti's look wrong with owt else.

A nice set of Mavic Crossmax, full XTR (it'd be rude not to as you've bought the shifters), 1x10, XTR trail brakes with ice tech rotors and jobs a good 'un.

Always fancied an ARC too. The difference between you and me is that you've done something about it. Seeing your picture of that lovely frame has got me thinking again.

Yeah white Fox will look cool on that.

Very nice , I was torn between a arc and asr, went for a Asr in the end. Building the asr at the moment with XTR m97. Stuff and Thomson, I decided on white rock shoxs rct3, which look great.

Looking forward to seeing this finished.

I owned an arc back in the day and currently have an asr.
Both are fantastic bikes and you will be well pleased when it's built.
Good luck. :)

Fox Forks

I've got some Fox 100 RLT's for the build. I think everyone would agree the bike has to have white fox forks on it.

Saying that though, I've got some Reba Race's in black and I love the whole poplock thing on the handlebars. They also have adjustable travel from 85mm to 115mm that can be changed in less than 60 seconds. Features wise they probably win hands down. Shame they won't look right on it.

Handlebar wise I checked out the new Thomson's. Unfortunately I can't stretch to the £130 price they're after!!!
