Unless someone here's really generous then I doubt you'll do too much better than that...
You don't need a crank tool until you actually want to remove it (unless you've got the the self-extracting crank bolts). If you buy a crank extractor then make sure it's an Octalink compatible one - or if you buy a regular one you'll need a special additional piece to insert to make it all work:
