That's a tough one. That's at the transition period from the 8-spd XTR m900 in 1995 to 8-spd XTR m950 in 1996 & 1997 ONLY - then the Mega 9 m952 update in 1998. The 1996 - 1997 only with the 8-spd cassette and shorter cage rear derailleur too. If you find shifters or brifters, you want the ones that DO NOT have the "mega 9" stamping. Else your indexing will be all for nothing.

Maybe you know all this , but some sellers accidentally confuse the two based off of color and look since m950 parts carried into the m952 & m953 sub-releases. The tell is whethere there is a "Mega 9" logo or not.
