Hi, I'm looking at getting some Link Wires for my XTR M900 brakes...

Shimano seems to call them Type A, E, F, ... ect... Which is correct?

What is the proper length for XTR M900?

What is the proper length for XT M730?

What about XT M735?

Is there somewhere online with this recorded...??? I looked but had no luck... sorry if it's super easy to find, I may have glanced over it...

thanks!

I think that also depends on your fork? You should aim at </= 90° angle between the wire an the (thought) line between the brakepads and the point where the cable is attached to the canti. And all that while in "brake" position.

Hi Fluffy Chicken
I  also have the same problem with needing straddle cables for xtr m900 cantilever brakes and I've searched through the tech documents but there isn't any document for m900  just m735 and others.
Will A/73 be the ones I need? Are the lengths the same for both front and rear or are they different?
Right now I'm using E/81 and these seem to be too long and the braking is horrible but that's probably because of improper setup.
If somebody has a complete set of m900 cantis. Oils you check cor me what is stamped on your cables? Plz? Pretty plz :D
Thanks
LF

Re:

I'm no authority, but I have M900 which I recently fitted to a bike. The brake parts came with a full groupset and no obvious sign that hardware had been swapped about. The wires are 'B' on the rear and 'D' on the front. I wouldn't know what lengths to measure though...

It's definately A/73 as Fluffy Chicken has said. :D

Re:

Thanks for your help guys I already had a cable hanger on them then decided to be politically correct err period correct

Mat if you found the letter on the flattened part of the cable that's so handy for removing the cable from the brake you will see it says shimano on one side and the other will have the letters and numbers I need for example A/73 or E/81 or B/65
Thanks
