XT M739 Crank outer ring replaceable?

If anyone does, I know where to find stuff like this.

Send me a pic and I'll dig around in our list of obsolete parts.

This may be what you're after:

or

The 5 arm spider adapter you're after is one of these
http://www.bikeparts.com/productinfo/XT ... 89006.html or http://www.bikeparts.com/productinfo/LX ... 80939.html

I came up with these after doing a quick google search on 'm739 cranks' and 'm569 cranks' BUT I'd email or call any of the online stores to make sure they do actually have it in stock and will ship to where you are.

I had a set of the LX (m569) versions of what you've got. They're practically identical, but the outer ring is black not gold, and arms are forged slightly differently if I remember correctly.

To answer your question about he 'm' numbers, well it the product code for Shimano MTB groupsets, essentially the higher the first number the better the quality (eg, the 'm9XX' series are XTR, the 'm7XX' XT, 'm5XX' LX...), the higher the next 2 numbers the newer it is so your 'm739' come from 1997/98, where as 'm770' cranks are only a couple of years old. But there are much better explainations of this out on the web if you search... probably even on this site.

I had no luck finding replacement chainrings locally and couldn't be bothered to get any shipped to me at the time so ended up buying a whole new crankset - it was a good excuse to upgrade!

I found one after all..... Well not one but two....

Silver NOS but not stored properly so one or 2 scratches, and as a complete assembly with the 32 and 22T rings.

Black used but not much. Just the 42T.

PM me if interested
