Hi

- I've broken down my Peugeot Montana bike, the frame & forks are Reynolds 531, but there are a couple of issues - there is a slight crack/split at the seat tube bolt area, unfortunately the frame was supplied to me with a 26.6mm seatpost - the actual size is 27.0mm so the tightening of the seat clamp bolt has caused a pinch effect - it has been this way since Ive had it and hasnt got worse so it should be ok, you can't really see a split from the inside. The other 'issue' is it requires a bmx headset? (26.4mm, 30.2 cups for 21.1mm stems) - an Issue because I bought a Mongoose bmx headset for the sale and its not the right size!

21" c-c top tube
21" c-t seat tube
28.6mm seat tube for 27.0 post
130mm rear spacing
21.1mm stem

Come with 2 stems, seatpost, original pump which fits behind the seat tube, and some pedals & Raleigh seat clamp (XT bits are seperate). In light of the seat tube split this is Karma/postage only **SOLD**

- 6 Speed XT Groupset - Chainset 170mm SG round rings worn but still work, F+R mechs, front M730 brake & rear U Brake (a bit faded in colour), Sharkfin, 6 speed thumbies, DiaCompe SS5 levers. Reasonable condition, the only issue is the RH thumb shifter base is threaded (I tried threading a larger bolt in but it didnt work!) - I have supplied an old DX base so it can be used. I've sold the BB with the frame.
£55 UK Posted **SOLD**

- Mavic 130mm Wheelset - 501 hubs, M261CD rims, 130mm rear spacing - Great wheels, DB 'A' spokes, sealed cartridge bearings running freely and plenty of life in the rims yet. Includes the skewers but they are a bit prone to rust! The cheap 6 speed screw-on freewheel will be removed prior to posting!
£60 UK Posted **SOLD**

- XT M730 Wheels - M730 hubs, Mavic 230 rims, rear 32/front 28 hole with Sapim DB spokes so about as light as M730 gets. Good condition, hubs running freely although they could always benefit from a regrease, rims only slight concavity - still good to use. Includes a HG70 12-28 cassette
£55 UK Posted

- NOS Shimano XT BB-M730 bottom bracket 126.5 x 73mm, only recently checked this to find it was a 73mm axle so no longer required

Re:

Hi mate

Nice bike , unfortunately so big for me .
I would take the pedals and front brakes if you finally split the group .

Regarding to the headset , I had a little younger Peugeot and I remember to have headset problems .
The frame was sized for 1 1/8" headsets , but the tange fork was 1" (22,2mm inner diameter )
For this reason they had a special Peugeot headset .
Could be the same problem ?

Cheers

Re:

Maybe it's not a bmx one then, the crown race is 26.4mm, inner headtube is 30ish so could be 30.0 or 30.2 and the steerer tube is for 21.1 stems?

Re:

Hi

I think could be the same problem I had .
At the end the only solution I found was to change the fork to a 1 1/8" size one , or to prepare some "spacer bushings" to accomodate a 1" headset to a 1 1/8" frame .

Later models changed to a logical all 1 1/8" configuration .

Cheers
