XP times up?

I'm using XP. My drives are already formatted (NTFS) with 4k allocation units. Must have defaulted to that because I didn't explicitly set it.

I have read arguments that disks or partitions that contain Windows pagefiles are suited to 4k block-sizes, as the page size is (or at least was) 4k for Windows.

I had to use a really old dual boot 98/2000 machine in order to upload onto a PCMCIA card. Does anyone know of a multi card reader that works with XP that will read PCMCIA, CF and SD cards?

My mum doesn't believe that her Windows 95 is old enough to warrant being replaced yet!

Just means five years down the line todays HDD's will have legacy status and the price will go up a couple of quid.

I thought the market was trying push SSD's before reverting back to mechanical advances?

What happened to the new file system that was meant to appear in Longhorn Beta's then Vista various beta's and then Win7?

Just a no news day methinks another case of ZOMG Currys are going to stop selling xxxxxx cos no one wants them anymore (reality of it the margins are are only 45%) instead they are filling the shelves with Monster branded HDMI cables at £72 a pop.
