Jeez..it's not even September yet.

I forward a proposal that any X*as stylee threads be automatically and summarily banned/deleted until ..mmm...the start of November?

I'm cancelling that particular event this year due to lack of interest.

Or I may just wrap the kids and gift them to Barnado's or something. . .

Are there any workhouses will in operation??

hey wih 4 kids its a planned event from the finish of the last one for the next in my house or it get to expensive all last minute lol

wish i could cancel due to lack of interest just they will torment me if i did village of the damned style

and my youngest if he dont get the silly 14" ben 10 bike he seen will turn Damian on me not something you dont want to do when your kids birth date should have been the 06:06:06 he gate crashed the party before then though lol but he still has Damian like outbursts

Don't envy you fella. . . I 'only' have 3 (and at the end of the year the girls will be 13 and 10) and it's always lastminute.com

Sorry. . we've gone wildly off topic..

Back to bike choices ;)

It's 4 months away though. That's a lifetime for a kid, won't they want/moved on to the next thing by then?

If you wait a month or two you should be able to pick up 2010 bikes for quite a bit less.

Spesh already have some of their 2011 bikes available now due to selling out of some 2010 models. 2010 bikes will sell out very quickly as the 2011 ones are increasing in price (around 10%) or going down in spec.

If you can I'd advise reserving them now. Any good shop will be happy to store them for you.

Well i did it already i got one them and that turned out to be the Carrera Vengance, reasoning behind it is when i was showing them to my lads today and they had been reduced further to £250.
Personally i dont feel that i would have got anything better for that anywhere and would have been getting two had they done smaller than an 18", but thats to big for my 11 year old so have moved onto looking at a Gary Fisher Advance for him unless something else comes up

Great deal on the vengance, a mate is going for one. I was looking at the focus killer bee on wiggle for him - very well specced for around £450 but it might be a bit above your price range. He saw the vengance and decided it will do him, which is true.

Focus Bikes Killer Bee LTD - £449.99 (down from £750)

The medium size bike weighs 12.8kg - it has a remote lock out on the forks and it is available in small (40cm/15.75")

Wish i could stretch the budget some for one of them they do look good i may even consider one for myself at a later date but buying 4 bikes this Christmas and thats not including anything else i get them so budgets need to remain stringent.

Carrera at that price is really a no brainer its only downfall is the retailer it comes from, the store i am getting it from seems to be the exception to the rule as they seem to know what they are talking about or the bloke i spoke to yesterday did, stands to reason though they gotta have at least one member of staff who knows what he is on about given how big they are lol.
