wtd/ swap Mavic 501 rear hub

I actually bought a new alloy axle for mine but it was shorter than my broken one and did not work , the body of my hub has a (dust?) ring next to the bearing under the thread and that puts the bearing a bit more inboard and requires a longer unsupported section

some numbers.............hub body flange centres 56mm

total length of broken original axle 135mm, was 8spd but looks like 126OLD, length of fat section 28.5mm

total length of replacement axle(that doesnt work) 135 mm ,OLD 126mm, length of "fat section 21.5mm
