Hello!

I've never owned a road bike, having always been into MTBs when I was younger.

I'm looking for something for £400 that would suit my height, with brakes and gears for general fitness training (no fixies etc.) I have no idea what size frame I need and there are no local bike shops around here for me to try sizes out so any guidance is appreciated!

Thom

For a classic road bike you need to take your inside leg, minus 9 inches approx to give your frame size there should be plenty of very good road bikes available for £400 of classic/retro status, the Specialized Allez starts around £500 new, I have had one for a year now and found it very comfortable, although I would recommend for a new bike going to a shop to see what feels right

Thanks for the info guys.

It looks like i will be taking delivery of a well used Orbea Onix 09 with a 22" frame. I have long arms and legs so i think this will be perfect for me :)

Thanks BikeHoarder!!
