Hi,

I need some forks fitting to my 96 GT backwoods and obviously don't want a bodge job and want them to look after my pride and joy!

I've got the forks, they just need a star fitting inside and then fitting and chopping.

Any ideas please folks???

Also what sort of price would you expect to pay for such a job?

Any suggestions for good bike shops or anyone on here?

Thanks

Daz

You could probably buy the tools (pipe cutter/hacksaw and star nut installer) and do it yourself for less ;)

yeah but i've not got a clue what I'm doing!! ha ha, as said it's my pride and joy and want it done right!

Fair enough :)

I'd offer to do it for you but I'm a bit far away

I'm sure that someone near you would be able to help though.

do not use a star nut, buy a headlock, much easier to change forks around and alot less damaging to the fork, also keeps the mud out the bottom of the fork.
then all you need to do it cut the tube, or use spacers to save cutting it, always advisable and fit the bottom crown of the bearings for the headset.
