WTD: Commuting bike

Needs to be rigid, medium size, and take guards & a rack. Not bothered about scratches but must be in good working order. Something retro and steel would be ideal.

I haven't decided on how much to spend, but let's say that absolute max will be £200.

How about a 1994 olive green Specialized StumpJumper? No rack mounting eyelets at the top but I use it as a commuter with a rack mounted using the brackets that came with the rack that clamp around the seat stays. Can leave the Blackburn MTN-1 rack on as I will no longer be commuting.

Condition is generally good for the age, a number of scratches and bits of surface rust. Full LX M563 groupset, Specialized bar ends and an Elite bottle cage, chain and cassette replaced within last 20 miles, only used on road by me. My commuting concludes next Friday, then it will be available.

I can flip on the Dawes Edge I acquired from eBay recently - 18" and almost full M732 XT, plus has full rack/mudguard mounts.
