WTD - adapter for rear disc brake

Well thanks for letting me know :D Was going to be a nightmare getting more pics of that! its 4 bikes deep at present.

Its not the end of the world, worth an ask and thanks for all your help.

You are going to need something akin to what you said in your original post that fixes to the brake pivot like the Brake Therapy ones:-

Although to be honest you don't need to have a rear disc other than symmetry, I have a couple of bikes that I can't put a rear disc on but as 95% of my braking involves the front wheel it is not an issue (I weigh in at 100Kg so there is a lot of mass to slow down too). I only use the rear brake to bring the back end round in corners when I need to and a good set of V's is more than up to the task.

I am going to follow your advice here I think - its for my Son and I don't think he really needs rear discs - For me it was more about symmetry, wheels and basically having the same brake levers / brake feel and so on.

That kit looks great but at $175 its out of the question.

Thanks for your help :)

You can find cheaper versions than the Brake Therapy one and they pop up on eBay quite often, I sold one on there for about £30.

If you want to keep some symmetry and feel on the brake levers you can always use cable actuated discs which would also be easier to maintain and a good way of getting your son involved with his bike and it's maintenance, that's what my dad did with me and I built my first BMX when I was 11 and haven't stopped since.

I was just looking at one of these kits last week, iirc it was £35 new!

I cant remember the manufacturer though..
