Old School Hero
Hi all,
i'm after a 18" or 19" steel framed Kona anything considered, but would prefer a complete bike.

Cheers
Rich

My recently acquired '90's 18" steel Kona will be available for about £150 soon:
Resprayed very nicely in gloss black with a few kona stickers but no positive year or model i.d. yet (I'm working on finding out but it could be a '94 cinder cone.)
Rockshox Indy's which look nice & work a lot better than I expected.
Mavic 231 32 hole on LX black parallex hubs, d/butted spokes. Period tyres.
STX 175 cranks 22/34/42. Cartridge BB.
DX mechs, 8 sp Gripshift working fine with 7 speed 12-28 cassette.
Kona 165 flat bars, 100mm ahead stem. Tioga headset with DX lower cup.
Kalloy Ritchey style black 350mm s/post. 26.4 dia.
Original model DX spd's or Sakae Low Fat pedals with clips/straps option.
Rolls saddle or Race Gel option.
Shimano V brakes or '91/92 black DX lo-pro cantis/Dia-compe levers option.
Polished or black bottle cage option.
Everything is v good condition. Rides nicely, commuted to work today (12 miles) & looking fwd to home time.

Kona technical people reckon mine is a '90 to '92 year, because of 26.4 seat tube size & fitted with Greasealer bb (grease nipple for before cartridge bb's came out) & more than likely a Cinder Cone.
Thought it felt a bit heavy at the back & when I swapped rear tyre I found a Slime tube (375 grams!) & an extra rubber rim strip. Changed these & it zips along now.
Looking for £150 as next project, a 93 Explosif, arriving soon. Will post in the for sale forum soon if don't sell it locally.

At the end of the month, I will have 4 steel Kona frames for sale after I get it back from the sprayers, all will be completed with plastic b/b guide, rear canti clamp and Kona seatpost clamp, one frame will have a forks with it.

As for price, I will have to work it out how much I have spend so far.
