WTB: Interesting 50's/60's 23" (58cm) Road/Path frame

Rhodrich

Retro Newbie
As per title. I did a look out a couple of months ago, but never got anywhere, as the leads I had disappeared. I'm after a vintage lightweight frame/forks, or full bike that I can use for fixed gear use. Ideally after something with track ends, but could also consider a road bike, if there aren't too many braze ons, and if it's got a 120 OLN back end. Bike needs to have mudguard eyes, and clearance for 28mm tyres, or built for 27 x 1 1/4" wheels. Needs to be quality steel (Reynolds 531 preferred), with bonus points if its got fancy lugs.

Let me know what you've got tucked away....

Thanks.

I have a 61cm 24in Viking 531 path frame 120 oln rear for 27inch wheels the frame has no decals and has been refurbished however it got a large chip on the seat stay from moving and but its got pointy lugs.

Re:

Thanks - that does look lovely. The lugs are Nervex Serie Legere Model 45/159.

I'm afraid that at 24in, it's just a little bit too big for me though. Whilst I do like a large frame, I'm only 5'11". Sorry.

Re:

Lugless Hobbs of Barbican, 1953, Flam red, horizontal forward facing dropouts.

Rear dropouts spaced to approx 113 / 115mm for sturmey archer but currently fitted with 110mm fixed wheel. Would likely spring to 120mm without any problems.

How about my Lenton thats still not built up.
Should be about the right size.if it's likely to be any good i'll get some better pics and list of bits you get with it.jm.

Re:

Thanks jm.

At the moment, it looks like I'll be taking on oaklec's Hobbs of the Barbican frame, but I'll let you know if that doesn't work out for any reason.
