Oh aye, a 12 grand bike. And when the insurance papers arrive he'll suddenly rememer his faberge egg collection and 42" tv were in the panniers

Id never leave a 12k bike open to being nicked like that. But then thats because Id never be able to afford a 12k bike

at the tour last week there were silly money expensive bikes strewn all over the place unattended, i was on my Demon which as most of you well know is pretty expensive, i took a cable lock with me, knowing i would never be far from it. i locked it to a metal fence post and removed the front wheel aswel as the cable was only long enough to go around both wheels if removed.
also i was never more then about 10 metres away from it and still kept looking over at it.
also, the reason i got a van was so that my bikes are inside it as opposed to on top of a car.

I would have whipped it off and shoved it inside to be honest, there is always room once you actually get out of the car. If it was that kind of money, even for five minutes!
