Would you buy an ex-pro bike, if he was a confirmed doper?

Also, in reality it would be very difficult to find any team bike from certain eras that would not be similarly tainted.

This.

On the other hand, since you had never heard of said pro, I wouldn't pay any extra for its history.

Some valid points. I'm well aware of what it's worth (and what it's not)! I was more interested to know everyone's opinion.

Every bike is a piece of history.

I would happily buy an ex Lance Armstrong et al. I don't in any way condone what he and others did but the bikes did the miles too and as others have said "It wasn't the bike that doped" but they were there to see those wins and be part of those races.

It wasn't the bike that was snorting LSD chain lube it was the plonker holding the bars If you like/want it if it was me I would buy it the one concession I would have to make would be to remove his name if it was stickered/painted on the frame?

In answer to your Question.

YES!! its a no brainer (at the right Price)
For me even more so if its a low pro with 650c front wheel. (how long now have they been banned by the UCI)??
Your buying the bike not the "Nut" holding the Handlebars.
And I would leave the Name on it as well.
