In messaging a friend recently my phone failed to autocorrect WOTH (into with) and I wondered what the hell Woth meant. Beyond the nasty youth acronym (which should NOT be in auto-correct dictionary but, knowing the tech companies, might be) I decided to check…
WOTH (plural wothes)
The condition of being exposed to or liable to injury or harm; danger, peril; a cause of harm or injury.
Actually jolly useful. For mountain-biking, skiing, climbing etc. As in:
‘blimey, that rocky chute looks as though its going to give a lot of Woth….’
Or better
‘blimey, that’s Woth Factor 6.0, that chute….’
It gives a word to what currently is a variable noise followed by ‘not sure about that..’. As in:
Hmm not sure about that….(potentially do-able)
and
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm not sure about that….(really scary)
