That picture is of my car with the dashborad removed so i can change the "heater matrix" this is what gives you heat inside the car, but when it breaks it leaks hot steaming water all over the footwell

Does that mean that your car is turned in to a mobile sauna?

Well if you can remember what all the wires do, why not make a custom dash with stack display and a mantlepiece?

Kind of. Except in winter the vapour condenses on the windscreen and freezes. And you can't deferost it cos the seatep matrix leaks.

I was faced by this job when the heater motor packed up...opted to trade the car in instead.

Not only did the entire inside need to come out, but also the ECU and a whole load of stuff under the bonnet too!

As you say, they take a bare painted bodyshell and task No1 is to add the heater.

Funny that, just removed the exhausts on my Capri last weekend, came off no problem at all, getting the car high enough on the stands was a sketch though.

Just need to find the money for the Stainless steel Janspeeds i want now :roll:
