Strong words Pickle. Great fun indeed - a huge adrenaline rush especially in events like the Devil or 40k points but better than MTBing? One thing I do know - crashing is far more painful. I have the burns to prove it!

I'm just in reminisce mode Watching the racing last night brought a lot of memories flooding back

Devil Take the Hindmost was one of my fave events, used to love it.

Racing at Welwyn Garden City every Friday night was a blast, open air track, floodlights, 11pm and we're still blasting round.

Never stacked though Kev, maybe I was just lucky , seen some bad ones in my time though :shock:

When I belonged to WASPS Welwyn and Stevenage Pedalers - club ran by Marshalls Cycles, they organised a night at the Welwyn track, such great fun, we had to do it on MTB with knobbly tyres!

You used to do Welwyn then???

I started off in Juvenille's for a month or so, and then moved up to 2nd Cat. Used to ride my white speckled track bike, with a Vento up front and Mavic carbon disc at the rear.

What were you on?

There was a really gobby chap used to ride there....cant remember his name :? Used to ride his rollers in between events. So, so talented on the track, but kept getting sent off because he gave everyone a mouthfull!
