World Cup

I'm disappointed that we did not get it, the investment would have been good for us at this time.
But from a point of view of having to live here and not being a football fan... Not to bad a result.

it will be good to get the game of football spread all over the world.itsa shame england seems to think we deserve it all the time, look at our history and behavour, infrastructure and resources. do we need the world cup?

what annoying noise making device will the ruskies have?

Totally corrupt but thats just football these days, makes road cycling look clean

I am really wondering what the people in Qatar will do with all the mega stadiums they will end up after 2022. It is a 800.000 people country. About as big Amsterdam and A'dam doesn't have need for a single 60.000 people stadium atm.

Balalaikas?

Seems to me that everything I like most has been corrupted or at least transformed for the worse by commercialisation. Football, MTBing, rock music, the internet, motor cycling, I won't mention sex.

All activities originally built on grass roots enthusiasm and support then annexed transformed, for better or worse, by big business.

"Far cry from small boys in the park, jumpers for goalposts. Rush goalie. Two at the back, three in the middle, four up front, one's gone home for his tea. Beans on toast? Possibly, don't quote me on that. Marvellous."
"Thank you Ron"

Well, to be fair, there have been reports of the bid containing an idea of dismantlable stadia, which would be used for the Kevball tournament then taken down and shipped to other (presumably developing) countries and re-erected there.
