Yeah I think the B-17 replaced the full suss Quake as the Quake went front suss only after 97....I think!

Re: Wookiee's 1990 Marin Eldridge Grade

So first wrist op done this morning and arrived back home to find a mysterious brown parcel. After a few mins unwrapping it with one hand and my teeth....the mystery gift revealed itself! A rather splendid Marin messenger/laptop bag! Thanks to Chute for this most generous of gifts! My wife can't get over that he just sent it for free! Even covering the postage! I explained that Retro bike love brings out the best in people!

A happy wookiee!

Re: Wookiee's 1990 Marin Eldridge Grade

Right so been having a bit of a tinker with the ol Eldridge! Changed a few of the bits...The creaky BB turned out to be the cranks that had worked loose! Doh! But at least I don't need to get rid of the BB just yet! So the LX STI's have been changed for the infinately better looking DX ones. The front mech was LX and is now a nice M735 XT one and the rear LX mech has had the same XT treatment. It would have been unfair to leave the pedals out so they too are now the M735 XT ones. The crankset is a nice black ringed DX one, and I stuck a pair of barends on it that I had knocking about! I've kept the combi tyres on as it is more of a popping to the shops via the wood tracks rather than full on off roading but I have a set of Smokes on standby...but thats more the job of the Team! With one hand out of action I am off work a the moment (Gawd bless the weather!!!) and had the chance to take a few more pics this afternoon with its cousin the Team...

...I hope you enjoy!

Doug

Re: Wookiee's 1990 Marin Eldridge Grade

Oh and a slight casualty has occurred...I know that you are not supposed to harm children....BUT my boy (only 3 1/2) managed to knock a step ladder onto the Team damaging the "N" of the downtube Marin decal on one side!!!!

Not sure what I am going to do yet maybe I'll just leave it but it takes the shine off it :(
