Danish Oil.......................I use on my doors and mantelpeice .............1 coat a year and it looks great.

Alas alas,looks like oil takes the prize
But if thats what the majority say then who am i to argue
Would recommend plenty of coats,the more the better with a minimum of 10 on the top
PS
Danish oil goes off very quickly once opened,so keep it in an airtight container and shake it once in a while to stop it solidifying
