Good..esp program 2 below.......but still left me with the question of...does life come from life ? or was there nothing before the big bang and that created life ?..............i would like to think of the big bang as a seed going off, releasing all ingredients for life to begin..........but where did that seed come from...............or was the big bang just what came out of the arse end of another universe.......and we are mearly a 'parp' from a blackholes bottom ??? :?:

From what I think.

At an infinitely small time before the big bang there was nowt, no matter just pure energy, lots of it in a dead little area.
Bang!
Now there's tons of matter in a massive area, losing energy as it spreads. Without the energy holding it tight it'll get so big it will shrink again, dead quickly, the big squeeze, and all the matter will again become energy.

Without the matter, just before the bang, when there was nowt, there was also no time as it had nothing to act upon. So there was nowt nowt.

As for life, evolution, from the right elements. These elements have formed us, quite amazingly, unless you think of all the other stuff that came together and isn't life. We are a mere blip in time and matter.

But we are dead smart compared to everything else on our rock, or elements may have alien originals.

But we are all made from stars anyway, so the aliens have the same origins as our elemental matter.

Great programme though, Wonders of the Solar System was good too.

owt came from nowt....?

I rekon ah.

Nowt tangible, no matter, just energy.

Then there's the time thing. At each end, the big bang and the big squeeze, time has no matter to affect, just massive energy which doesn't change for a minute amount of time (but there is no time as there's nowt to witness it and nowt for it to have any affect on) then the energy explodes into matter and time starts (again).

Spacetime, It's time Jim but not as we know it.

i find all this really mind bending......great programme though.....my mrs likes the presenter.....i told her he has moobs......

I reckon the universe that came before ours imploded on itself then exploded, the big bang. Maybe it has happened millions of times and will continue to do so in a never ending cycle taking billions of years to repeat. Unless of course we are on a particlarly long portion of the cycle.
