WNT: Road Forks

I fear for my dashing good looks if I use my old Alan with it's original forks. If you hold the front wheel between your knees and wiggle the bars, there is around 20mm movement!

So, I'm after 1" threaded steerer forks of the crowned type. There is a picture here:

Frame size is 23.5"

Could the old ones be repaired do you think?

Stop riding them now before you kill yourself. Fork failures kill people.

Have a newer all aluminum fork that would look nice on that frame and in 1" what length steer tube and threads do you need?
