Long time lurker. Just moved to the UK from NZ via Australia and quickly went about finding a bike. Picked up this lovely Muddy Fox Explorer. Was planning on some light touring with my lady so it fitted the bill. Seems all original except for the tires and rear derailer, hover the seatpost and stem are well frozen. The joint in the bullshit strong seatpost is slipping so it needs chemical extraction. The stem wedge is free but the rest is still in there firm. The paint is a little beat up. Have had a good look at all the rust and none of it seems too deep.
Was planning on starting the caustic operation this week, but figured I would see if there was anyone interested in a trade. While it is near exactly what I wanted, it is a touch big at 21". I was also undoubtedly gonna butcher its (fairly) original specs which would be a shame. Also have the original saddle. Its presently on my gf's orange but can throw it back on.
Top tube is 21" c-t. Top tube is 21" c-c. Standover is 82.5cm on 1.8's.
So if you have been searching for one of these and have a steel bike you would like to trade, I am all ears. Was hoping for something 19-20" with a top tube that isn't excessively long. Some eyelets for racks would be a plus and some butting would be nice. I am based in London N17. If you are very keen I could potentially use a courier, although money is a little tight so I would prefer not to.
