Witcomb from 1972 or so

Retro Newbie
A long time ago I was an avid bicyclist in the USA. I purchased my Witcomb frame in Connecticut, and it is still in original shape (I built it out from the frame). I believe it is from Witcomb London and not USA, but I'm just going by the decals. Here are some photos. Just trying to understand what I have and decide what to do with it!

The bottom of the frame says DAVIS COMPONENTS, with numbers 62 63 and a serial number 955472.

Its got the original Brooks seats that I installed, Shimano Dura-Ace brakes and derailleurs, Campagnolo Cranks. Lots of memories, but my days of riding are long gone!

Definitely a UK frame - the US-made frames had USA on the head transfer. It looks very nice, with a bit of patina.
Witcombs have quite a following, not surprising considering the pivotal role the marque had in creating the US craft framebuilding scene.

It looks like a real timewarp bike, give it a good clean and lubrication service, fit new tyres and off you go!

Thank you, I was leaning that way. Do you know how to decipher the numbers from the bottom of the frame? I'm thinking it was built in 1972 based on the serial number, and I'm guessing the 62 63 stamp indicates something about frame size (in cm)?

Nice :) don't often come across 3ttt stems with the stickers so good, lugs look very carlton flyer :)

I'd split it if selling, use ebay to find out what the going price is, might take some time but you will realise the value of your pride and joy...
